If you don't know the replacement part number, follow these steps to choose the right cartridge: a. Measure the outside diameter of the cartridge in inches (±1/16) b. Measure the overall length of the cartridge in inches (±1/16), excluding any handles or attachments c. If the top and/or bottom is open, measure the inside diameter of the opening (±1/16 inch). If the end cap is closed, note its identifying features (e.g. "Handle", "Cone", etc.)

Cracked end caps: Replace the cartridge immediately if the end caps have become brittle, cracked, or chipped. 3. Torn pleats: If the fabric is torn or fuzzy, the cartridge's effectiveness has been compromised and it should be replaced. 4. Crushed cartridge: If the inner structure is damaged, the cartridge should be replaced.
