To extend the lifespan of your salt system, it is crucial to clean the salt cell and remove these calcium deposits. The Swimables Acid Washing Kit is compatible with the IC15, IC20, IC40, and IC60 salt cells, ensuring a seamless cleaning process. Clean Every 3 Months To ensure optimal performance, most turbo cells should be inspected and cleaned every 3 months or after 500 hours of use. However, the frequency of cleaning may also depend on your water chemistry. The better balanced your water is, the less often you'll need to clean your salt cell.

Salt Cell Cleaning Instructions 1. Turn off the power and deactivate the pump. 2. If the calcium deposits are large and apparent, use a high-pressure hose to rinse them off. 3. In a clean plastic container, mix a 4:1 solution of water to muriatic acid. IMPORTANT: ALWAYS ADD ACID TO WATER, NEVER WATER TO ACID 4. Tighten the salt cell to the Swimables Acid Cleaning Kit with the cord side down, then fill the salt cell with the solution and let it soak for 15 minutes. Repeat this process until the salt cell is clean. 5. Once the cleaning is complete, install the salt cell inline and press and hold the "Diagnostic" button for approximately three seconds. This will turn off the flashing "Inspect Cell" light.
